Mt Fuji After Snow at Tagonoura Bay — 富士の雪渓(田子の浦
Mt Fuji After Snow at Tagonoura Bay — 富士の雪渓(田子の浦 by Kawase Hasui ca. 1932 on Black
Kawase Hasui was one of the last great masters of the shin-hanga movement—a early 20th century revival of traditional woodblock printing that blended Japanese technique with Western ideas about light and atmosphere. This print, depicting Fuji reflected in the still waters of Tagonoura Bay after a snowfall, is considered one of his finest works. It is quiet, almost meditative, and technically precise in a way that photographs of the same scene simply aren't.
This heavyweight tee carries the quiet weight of an old print and the easy comfort of a favorite shirt. The garment-dyed color reads soft and worn from the first wear, while the relaxed cut lets the art sit naturally across the chest.
